What is HomeAid

HomeAid, the benefactor of money raised from Project Playhouse is a leading national non-profit provider of housing for today's homeless. The organization builds and renovates multi-unit housing facilities for charities such as Boys Hope Girls Hope, Mercy House, Salvation Army, Volunteers of America, YMCA, and others so they can help America's temporarily homeless rebuild their lives.
Founded in 1989, HomeAid has expanded throughout the country to 22 chapters in 16 states and two offices: Augusta, GA and Newport Beach, CA (headquarters). HomeAid has provided housing for more than 100,000 individuals who have been rendered temporarily homeless due to circumstances beyond their control, including:
- Abused children
- Victims of domestic violence
- At-risk teens
- People living with HIV/AIDS
- Those who are temporarily out of work
- Victims of natural disasters and other catastrophes
Through the generosity of America's builders, their trade partners, financial institutions, and the public, HomeAid has built more than 192 multi-unit facilities with an additional 37 in development. These homes provide more than 4,600 beds per night nationwide (each bed serves an average of three people per year). For further detailed information about HomeAid visit www.homeaid.org.
