HomeAid's National Project Playhouse Featured on CBS
HomeAid Launches National Project Playhouse™ to Raise Awareness and Funds for Transitional Homelessness
On Monday, September 17 HomeAid, Pardee Homes® and American Girl® teamed up in New York to display on national television one of three miniature Project Playhouse™ houses designed around American Girl's 2007 doll of the year, Nicki, whose distinctive personality trait represents volunteerism.
The televised event helped kick-off HomeAid's national Project Playhouse showcase event to raise awareness and funds for its chapters that build dignified housing for temporarily homeless individuals and families.
In total, eight HomeAid chapters in various states host local Project Playhouse events, with New York, Los Angeles and Chicago featuring special American Girl-themed playhouses. On October 13, HomeAid will unveil an educational, environmentally sustainable playhouse, also built by Pardee Homes, that will be installed in the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
Special Note: The American Girl-themed house in New York featured on CBS "The Early Show" was donated to WestHELP Greenburgh (White Plains, NY), a transitional housing facility for families with pre-school aged children, during a dedication ceremony on Wednesday, September 19. The transitional home is operated by HelpUSA, one of the leading service providers in the New York City area.
Opportunity to Win an American Girl Nicki’s Colorado Ranch House Los Angeles and Chicago (locations only) Los Angeles/Ventura will be auctioning its house on October 20 at their auction party, while Chicago is raffling the house as an opportunity prize until October 7.
